Abstract Print Primitive Earth Tones with Dark Tribal Organic Elements

This piece was painted on a gesso-prepped book page, giving the surface some grit and making the watercolors flow effortlessly. I then used coffee to stain the page, adding warmth and an aged look, while letting the coffee create beautiful dark spots and ripples as it buckled the paper. Acrylics and watercolors came next, with graphite-infused watercolor adding a wonderfully textured granulation. I finished the details with gel pens, acrylic pens, metallic ink, white-out, and, of course, a little more coffee for extra depth.

Prints are available in 4×4 inches, 5×5 inches, 6×6 inches and 8×8 inches.
